About me

I live on the coast of North Wales and paint from my home studio. I am largely self taught and have gained valuable experience working alongside several mentoring artists. I have also enjoyed completing several short courses with both Slade and Heatherley’s Schools of Fine Art.

I exhibited recently with the Friends of the RBSA and was thrilled to display my first solo exhibition last year.

I complete portraits but also general figurative works, that I have a lot of fun with. I will add these to the site as the paintings progress. At times I do paint from life, but much of my work is a mixture of photographs and sketches that result in bold representational compositions. I like to invite the viewer to build their own narrative of what the image is portraying.

I slowly build up my paintings in layers and enjoy partially destroying layers as I pull and push images around with the brush.
